Keeping a journal can help you in more ways than you might think! And I don’t mean typing out quick little notes on your phone or computer. I mean really, truly handwriting meaningful content on the pages of an actual moleskin journal. It’s kind of a crazy thought, right? There are tons of scientific, medical benefits when it comes to journaling, but it can also have the simplest yet most wonderfully effective role in your everyday life.
A Moment of Self-Care
In this day and age, it’s almost strange if you aren’t stressed and in your head on a day-to-day basis. And I’m absolutely, one hundred percent one of those people! But writing, no matter what about, is such a release and is sure to lift the weight off your shoulders.
A Healthy Habit
Being consistent with a healthy routine of any kind is great in general. But, journaling is one of my all time favorites that I will always recommend to anyone and everyone. I get my pen out right before bed because it really is the perfect way to end my day. It might seem like a chore to keep such a constant in your life, but I’m willing to bet you’ll enjoy it as much as I do!

When I jot down my intentions and aspirations on paper, it makes me so much more motivated to work towards and follow through with them. When you actually see your plans written out, you’re more likely to take action because you’re not just thinking about them; they’re right there in front of you!

I can’t tell you how many of my old journals I unearthed when I was spring cleaning last year. I honestly think I spent almost three hours flipping through each and every one of them! Reliving your past memories and emotions is such a worthwhile experience, no matter what sort of anecdotes you come across. You can see how much you’ve grown, what you have accomplished, and what you might want to work towards.
Again, there are many empirical advantages to journaling, but I love it for all the simple reasons. With all the technology we surround ourselves with today, it might seem like a somewhat futile regimen to pick up. But, I say don’t knock it until you try it. It might change your life in the greatest way!
